OUR PARTNERSHIPS

The Social Enterprise Institute at Northeastern Univeristy believes that the world's major social problems can be addressed using innovative, sustainable business-based practices.  The SEI is a resource center housed in the D'Amore Mc-Kim School of Business which provides students with field based, practical experience in social enterprise.

Naman spent a summer participating in the Social Enterprise Institute's microfinance program in the Dominican Republic where he impacted many people's lives.

Akshaya Patra addresses a critical global issue: hunger vs. education.  For many, the option for both is simply not available.  Education takes away from work, and work is what provides the food. If a child is not fed, education cannot happen.  Akshaya Patra has taken the initiative to provide free lunch to over 1.2 million children and has become one of the largest school lunch programs in India.

This NGO held a special place in Naman's heart and he was a regular donor to their lunch programs, as he understood the importance of their efforts.

Utsav, the Sanskrit word meaning ‘Festival’, was started in 1991 by a handful of South Asian students. Now in its 19th year, Utsav has grown into a large and vibrant community of over 200 students and alumni. UTSAV strives to provide a sense of belonging and knowledge about South Asian culture and heritage. It represents students from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Naman was an active member of this organization and formed many close friendships with his fellow UTSAV members.
